According to sources, Bitmain plans to launch Ethereum ASIC Miner F3 with 72 GB of DDR3 DRAM. It is expected that the launch will begin in the second quarter of this year, giving the crypto-enthusiasts a new option for the mining of their favorite digital coins.
The information was provided by Chinese sources who claim that Bitmain is now working on the Ethereum mining, but is currently facing a shortage of equipment. Presumably, the F3 miner is equipped with three motherboards, and each has 6 ASICs.
Each of them has 32 GB of DDR3 memory, or, according to sources, it can be as high as 96 GB. However, the sources also suggest that the F3 miner will eventually offer 72 GB of the DRAM, so the details are still small. The problems associated with DRAM slow the production of Bitmain, although the company works with Taiwanese suppliers to solve them.
It is expected that Bitmain F3 will surpass many of the currently available miners working on the GPU, but how much it will cost is not indicated. Assuming that the company is solving its supply problems, sources say that F3 will appear in the second quarter of 2018. However, if production slows down, the output may be postponed until the third quarter. The company has not commented on this rumor yet.
