The Swiss church accepts donations in Bitcoin
While some major world media call cryptocurrency a means for buying drugs, money laundering and aiding terrorism, the most influential in Switzerland the Evangelical Church (International Christian Fellowship) began accepting donations from its parishioners in the cryptocurrency.
According to the news published on the official site of the church, voluntary contributions are accepted in bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (BCH), ether (ETH), ripple (XRP) and stellar lumen (XLM).
“Digital currencies and blockchain technology will change our daily lives dramatically in the coming years,” said Church spokesman Nicolas Legler to the Swiss news agency Idea. “We are convinced that crypto-currencies will become an integral part of the existence of every person on the planet.” Twenty years ago no one would have believed that the Internet would affect our lives so much. ”
It is worth noting that International Christian Fellowship (ICF) is known to the whole world for using all sorts of modern state-of-the-art technologies in its worship services, and also has a large number of young parishioners in their ranks who are increasingly using crypto-currencies to buy various goods and pay for services. Perhaps this was the main reason for the positive decision on accepting donations in the cryptocurrency.
